The Nutricia Homeward Enteral Nurse Specialists provide an out of hours advice line, this is available:

  • Monday to Thursday 5.00pm – 9.00am
  • Friday 4.00pm onwards
  • Weekends and Bank Holidays 24 hours a day
  • Call this number for advice on:

  • Pump or equipment problems
  • Issues relating to your feeding tube
  • Other nursing care issues related to your tube feeding
  • Please note that this out of hours advice line cannot give you information regarding your deliveries or place any orders for you. Please speak to your Nutricia Homeward Patient Coordinator to discuss this. If you call your Nutricia Homeward Patient Coordinator outside of normal working hours you can leave a message and will be contacted the next working day.

    What sort of thing can the Nutricia Homeward out of hours service help me with?

    Once you have called the out of hours service and your details have been taken, a Nutricia Homeward Enteral Nurse Specialist will call you back and discuss any pump problems or even order you an emergency pump if needed. Your nurse can also advise you on problems with your tube, e.g. blockages or connector issues and you can also receive advice on clinical issues, such as concerns about the stoma site or related feeding issues, such as vomiting.

    The problem may be able to be resolved over the phone or you may be advised to seek a face to face assessment with your local out of hours NHS service.

    All telephone advice consultations, including calls to the out of hours service, are available to be viewed by your Nutricia Homeward Enteral Nurse Specialist. If the out of hours nurse feels you need a follow up call or visit from your Nutricia Homeward Enteral Nurse Specialist this will be arranged for you within working hours.
