    At Nutricia Homeward, we are committed to protecting your privacy. We are registered with the Data Protection Register, comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and also follow the NHS Code of Practice on confidentiality. We use the information we collect about you to process orders and provide a more personalised service. All information is stored securely at Nutricia’s head office. We have a leaflet explaining how we safeguard your information which is available upon request.

    A separate statement below explains how Nutricia Homeward uses any information that you give to us, the ways in which we protect your privacy in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, and how you can access any information about yourself that we hold.

    Before using our service you will be asked to complete a form giving us permission to discuss information about your nutritional care with other healthcare professionals and to update you on any changes to the Nutricia Homeward service. You have the right to change your mind about sharing information; however this may impact on the service you receive.

    We use surveys to collect information, gather feedback and for service improvements. Whenever we do this, we will inform you of how the information will be used and to whom it will be disclosed (such as your NHS Trust or local CCG). Only a minimum amount of data is transferred and all such data is made anonymous so that individuals cannot be identified”

    What we do with your information - The primary objective is to provide you with the services you have requested. These services could include information, updates and access to forums. We may also use it to:

  • Enable third parties to process and manage your information to enable us to provide the services you have requested (example: using a courier to send you a parcel).
  • For security, administrative and legal purposes.
  • To update and enhance the website and the services provided.
  • If you have any questions, please contact your Nutricia Homeward Coordinator or the Superintendent Pharmacist.

    Data Protection Part 2: Freedom of information

    Your right to information

    You are entitled to request information about Nutricia Homeward under the NHS Openness Code 1995. The Freedom of Information Act 2000 recognises that members of the public have a right to information about all NHS pharmaceutical services. Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you are also entitled to access your patient medication records or any other personal information held about you. Please contact the Superintendent Pharmacist (see the Contact Details tab).

    Classes of information

    All information at Nutricia is held, retained and destroyed in accordance with NHS guidelines. Classes of information excluded from publication are set out in the NHS Openness code and Freedom of Information Act 2000 (for example commercial interests and personal information). Information on who we are, our services, complaints and contact details are included in this website.

    Funding information – We collect prescription charges where applicable on behalf of the Department of Health. This is not received by the pharmacist and does not form any part of payment for our services. Some patients can get free prescriptions – please request leaflet HC11 (these are also available from the www.dh.gov.uk website). If you pay for your prescriptions and get more than three items per month you can save money with a pre-payment certificate – please call 0333 330 1341 or access www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk for more details.

    Cost of information – In general, any information will be provided for free; if there is a charge we will let you know of any costs that have to be paid in advance.

    Policies – Nutricia Homeward operates under professionally and nationally agreed protocols and standard operating procedures related to dispensing of prescriptions.

    Who may process data?

    Your personal information (which includes your name, address and any other details) may be processed both by us and by other companies within our group. Each of the companies authorised to process your information as mentioned above will do so in accordance with this privacy policy.

    We do not share your information with any other company / establishment unless required so by law or other binding regulations.
